Information regarding passwords:
As this site grows more popular, ‘hacking’ is probably eventually going to start occuring. So the time to talk about how to make a strong password is NOW!
Don’t ever choose an easy word as your password. Don’t choose your name, the name of your pet, your favorite band, or your favorite actor or movie! In fact, any words that can be found in a dictionary are bad. The word ‘password’ is especially bad!
The best passwords look like big messy jumbles. They look like someone’s keyboard threw up. XD
Here is an example of a strong password (I just made it up as an example, it does not go to anything): b6Ye1Rgg7
It’s a mess, isn’t it? Nobody is EVER going to guess that password randomly!
You can make your password even stronger, too. When you make an account, you’re only allowed to make a password made of letters and numbers. However, you can log out, click on Manage Account, and change your password to something REALLY secure with extra characters you couldn’t use when you first logged in. The very best passwords of all use characters like %, ?, *, &, … those sorts of random symbols.
So a VERY GOOD and VERY STRONG password would look like this: &b5?CV#g4 (again, that’s something I just made up on the spot, of course.)
Me, I always write my passwords down so I can remember them. If you can’t do that – if that’s not safe for you – a possible alternative would be using what’s called ‘leetspeak’ in your password. Certain letters are swapped out for certian numbers: “leetspeak” becomes “l337sp34k”, for example. It’s not perfect, but it’s easy to remember, and it’s still a lot safer than using normal words spelled correctly.
The last thing: don’t ever EVER give out your password. If BABV ever gets REALLY HUGELY popular, it’s possible you might get a very official-looking email that looks like it has to be from them someday. No matter how real and official it looks, if it asks for your username and password, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. BuildABearVille -has- your account information, and if they ever needed to get into your account for ANY reason, they do not need your password to do so!
If anyone has anything to add to this, please feel free.
I just discovered something very silly:
Make your character Wave from the action list. Then, without moving a step, make them Wait.
They will do both actions at the same time – the end result is someone who looks like they’re shaking their fist in anger. XD

way around Bearville. Thank you for all your hard work and creativity in setting this up. I need to get the last two stones for the Jungle Quest. Have to get the 75,000 points for the sports challenge, have finally come to the conclusion that I may have to resort to hiring my next door neighbors child to complete that one or wait til one of my Grandchildren visits. Lost count on how many times my race car hit the wall/fences etc. Bet my auto insurance rates are going to increase because of it.

Mirenithil, here is another similar glitch I found with the FurryFriends:
I clicked into my Stuff while a visitor was in my condo with me, and when I came back, my FF had turned into their FF but still followed ME around. It was crazy having a FF that wasn’t mine following me! I thought all FFs walked on two legs bcz the puppy and moose walked on two just like my little bear!

A cyberguide is like a moderator, they wear white and have a white question mark above them. Some answer questions, some just come when players are reported to watch and make sure everyone behaves. Some may come on to make friends. It’s not really defined but I know they work for bearville and have been helpful in the past.

Two things…I wasn’t sure which category to post these under.
1. I keep trying to log on and get a “null” for everything. It will let me join a server, but then I can’t do anything because everything says null. Anyone else having this problem?
2. I discovered a neat trick! When you log on and it allows you to pick the US, Canada, or UK, if you see a friend online and you click on that person’s name, it asks, “Would you like to join the same server as ___?” Neat, huh?!
FreyaFullOfHugs, I’m glad I could help with the furry friend pics. I actually work for BABW so most of them I could figure out by sight but I had to look up the dino’s…couldn’t remember any but the one I own…lol!!
Well, I’m off to try to figure out how to play that racing game…I wish I was more coordinated!!

I found the Build-A-Dino website a few days ago. They don’t have that store near me and don’t have many dinos at my BABW. That website helped a lot too, and I got to play Dinos and Pairs too.

Hey neko,
If you log onto BABV and go to your “my stuff” where it shows you in the blue box, you can then take a screen shot by finding the key on your keyboard that says “print screen.” Press that and then go into the program “Paint.” Click paste and the entire screen shot should paste into the window. Then just select the part of your character you want as your avatar and cut it out of the picture, then paste it into a new “Paint” document. Save it and then upload it like normal!

Paint is a Microsoft word program where you can draw and or type things. That may not be the best defenition though.
I like to use Photoshop too, but I think it’s harder to use than Paint. Paint comes standard on Microsoft computers, but I didn’t think about those who have Macs!
I used the instructions from sammik *thank you* to print screen and paint the beanbag from the vanilla cub as my icon so you can get a pic of it for the exclusive items page. I don’t know how else to make it available to you without meeting you at babv. Hope this is good enough…

In the upper right hand corner of your screen when you are logged onto the blog it should say
Howdy, Jocelyntlo. [log Out, My Profile]
Click on My Profile then on that page there is a spot in the upper left corner to add your avatar. You choose a file – this leads to options on your own desktop where you keep your pictures. This is the tricky part. I always save my pictures as a jpg file then save it to the desktop so I can find it easily but I’m sure you know where your picture is. Select it then click upload image and your new avatar should be showing.
Has anyone heard of or seen the milk carton? I guess BAB has teamed up with a milk company. So the milk cartons that our kids get in school have a web code where you can get a virtual milk carton. Now, how am I supposed to get that? I can’t just go to any school and ask them for a milk carton! LOL. My son is in daycare…I wonder if they have it? LOL

i am SO upset with babv right now. when i logged in all of the following was gone:
waggly puupy toque, gold tiara, princess crown, two guitars, heart and paw print necklaces, two pairs of patch pants, some pawlette shirts, two bear slippers, and my pajama pants. AND that just what i remember! i am sure there is more missing. i emailed them a long time ago, but i haven’t gotten a return email or my stuff.
and my rainbow bunny ears and big brown bunny ears. i am soo soo sad.

The exact same thing happened to me a while ago! It sounds like your account was hacked. I logged out and within seconds all my stuff was gone. Write to BABV. They are very understanding. They sent me all my rare stuff back and gave me money to buy new stuff. You might lose things that aren’t selling in the store anymore, though.

Good Morning, I just wanted to comment on something that bothered me very much while on BABV a few days ago. I had taken your reccomendation under “trading” to block trades due to people scamming. However I forgot to block the whispers as well. As it turned out, since I “blocked trades” a message came up (on the screen of people asking me to trade) saying that I didn’t want to trade with them. Well, some girl whispered to me a very derogatory message, and of course I reported her because the whisper she sent me was completely uncalled for, nevertheless I think that it is very sad. It saddens me to know that many people go there with their children to have fun in a safe environment and there are others out there willing to ruin it by bullying others because they don’t get what they want! Thank goodness for the “Report this Player” feature. Have a great day everyone!

like at least catch some one do it and tell them how! they are hard to catch! they run away pretty fast to catch up to! i think maybe they are scammers because some one scammed many many people. and had that move so yeah!

There were are codes that are provided to BABW employees only with special gifts. The hat could be one of them but I have not confirmed with BABV.

i am happy that BABV changed lots of things today! they changed the loading part like they have a bear head and and says preparing flowers loading to cybear space it is pretty awesome! plus they are having graduating hats i wish they had gowns for them! and plus they have at the bear boutiqe cell phone mp3 players and more electronics man i wish i saved my bear credits well i am going to BABW next month i hope no one takes all the phones and mp3 players because some times they run out of stuff and you have to wait for a long time to get them! like at the clothes store they had a heart shirt and people ask where they get BABV only had it for 2 weeks and they are already sold out!

ok hi i have an answer to you princessfergie. i m not sure if u already know this. the people that “changes” thier look in a second and says that they have magic power is not true. What they do is just copy someone else by using this some kind of a trick of inventory’s. i think.
to freya: i followed your advice about how to take snapshots in babv. then i went to paint,and paste it but i don’t know how to make it smaller cause my picture is a little bit big and it can’t fit in… can you tell me what to do?????????… please and thank you

Oh my goodness! I absoloutely LOVE the “Patriotic Princess Outfit” in the bear boutique! It is soooo cute! I have no credits though.
In the newsflash this week it says “Visit your local BABW June 7&8 to recieve a free beach towel for you and your online character” You have to be in Canada or USA though.
Goodness I have done so many unhappy smiley’s i must seem very, very grumpy! Just to tell you I’m not!
Can I just ask.. why are BABW and BABV so addicting?!? LOL!!! I was never much of a stuffed animal type of person, but I must say.. Now I keep my eyes peeled for all the cool events and stuff coming up.
Now, I see how anyone can collect so many of these cute little furry friends. I got Magnificent Monkey and Champ today.. but I felt so torn cause I wanted so many different ones.. ahhh.. choices choices, but i’m happy nonetheless cause now I have four!! And I’m thinking of getting the new spirit teddy cause I also want to start collecting the pins too.

Well since I can’t post on furry friends page I will post here!! I went on vacation to Mall of America well actually to visit my mother in law! I couldn’t wait to c if they had anything different than my bab and yes they had the moose so of course I bought that plus it was the day to help stuff the white dogs so I was lucky enough to do that to!! I got my moose a MN twins outfit SO Happy!! I than went back and picked up the Adorable elephant too couldn’t pass it up and an outfit that I got at Rainforest Cafe!! So I finally come home and was excited to bring my moose online and was so disappointed!! I thought that since it was a new moose the Moose 2 it would get something different but I just got the antlers!! Oh well at least a moose and an elephant and my husband bought them both!!
Ps I forgot my moose isn’t even on the furry friends I had to pick to old one and I really don’t like that tuft of hair on his head!!!

London is alright i live in part of it.It is quite scary at the mo with all the incidents and murders going on so it can be abit frighting.But other than that its cool i love the west end all the fancy resturants and the fashion.Yesterday i went to Covent Garden and guess what was there:BABW!.And other than that london is alright!
Hello Bloggers. I was wondering if anyone has acually seen the “YEAR OF THE MOUSE” buildabear. I live too far from store, so do most of my shopping on line. It looks very cute and reminds me of “DOCTOR DESOTO” which are very cute books my son loves. I was also wondering what you got when you enter it on buildabearville. Any help out there?

The year of the mouse is not online yet at Buildabearville.com so when you get the year of the mouse you get to pick which furry friend you want. The choices are listed on the furry friend pics page (plus a row including the kangaroo, black lab, panda, topaz bear, adorable elephant, pink kisses teddy and happy chick)

i am VERY upset with buildabearville. i emailed them in the game and out that my account had been hacked, or a glitch had happened, and i had lost so much rare stuff. I still have not gotten a response, and i emailed them over two weeks ago!
any ideas for how to get them to answer me?
